Can you tell us more about the type of devices and how they work, where they are used and how they are built?
The device ICO-F is a Voltage Optimizer: it is based on patented counter phase transformers that will manage the supply voltage level in order to reduce the overvoltage effects.
For which situations ICO-F devices are most suited ?
Electric consumption from 20 KVa: preferably installed on flat consumption curve, not on electronic devices
What is the reliability of the devices? What are the reliability indicators?
Very reliable: it’s basically a transformer (20+ years of lifespan)
What is the longest warranty period for the devices offered by Icopower?
Icopower offers up to 25 years warranty
How long will it take to provide parts in the event of a device failure?
The time to get new parts is very short: the spare parts are standard electric supply available all over the world (ABB, Schneider, Siemens or other suppliers)
What are the most common device malfunctions? Can diagnostics be done remotely?
No malfunctions have been reported- The devices are connected to internet 24/7 and maintenance support can receive alerts 24/7
What will happen to the device in case of overload?
There is an internal automatic bypass, so there will be no power interruption
What will happen to the device in case of short circuit?
There is an electromagnetic protection.
What will happen to the device in case of Overvoltage?
Basically overvoltage is not a problem: the machine works up to 460V, but even higher voltage will cause no problem
What will happen to the device in case of current or voltage harmonics?
The machine has no problem with THD, it actually reduces harmonics by 6-7%

What are the own losses for ICOPower devices? What is the value of device losses depending on load and voltage?
Efficiency of the machines is >99%
Which energy consumers may not work properly with EcoPower devices?
Voltage Optimization doesn’t work on electronic devices but we offer ICO-L which is increasing the lifespan on electronic loads
How long does it take to install the device?
Usually it takes a couple of hours
Where to install the device if there is no space in the switchboard? Can the device stand outside? At what temperatures does the device work properly?
Yes it can be put in production zone or outside the power room. If placed outside, it must be covered (IP21). It doesn’t need air conditioning.
What is the payback period?
It depends case by case, usually under 36 months (3 years).
Why don’t I just tap down my transformers?
The savings achieved from a transformer tap will be a fraction of those achieved through a voltage optimizer. In addition, there will be no benefit to power quality or any protection of your electrical infrastructure. The savings and benefits of a voltage optimizer installation will quickly outweigh a transformer tap.
